Guide Excerpted by NBC's "Today's Home Buyer's Guide" Series on Weekend Today
BOSTON - June 8, 2000 - Domania.com today debuted the Web-availability of its first free consumer guide First-Time; First Steps (http://www.domania.com/qa/buying.jsp). The 12-page guide focuses on initial learning and research steps that so often are overlooked by first-time home buyers.
Excerpted for inclusion in NBC's recent Weekend Today series "Today's Home Buyer's Guide", the guide walks prospective buyers through a series of five steps, "Your First-Time TUTOR", designed to support the education, empowerment and information-acquisition needs of prospective home owners.
TUTOR is comprised of:
- Think About Your Needs
- Understand the Process
- Talk to People in "Your" Neighborhood
- Organize yourself to get to "Real" Information
- Research the Financial Aspects of Home Buying
"You can minimize chaos if you think about the process in advance of pursuing it," said Ellen Bossert, chief marketing officer and consumer strategist, domania.com. "If you are armed with the appropriate information going in to the search," Bossert added, "you are in a better position to find a home that meets your personal and financial needs."
The guide also suggests buyers' review of a number of free secondary resources, chiefly on the Web, that first-time buyers might include in their research and information-gathering process.
Domania plans an ongoing series of guides that address specific topics of interest to consumers as they research their unique needs as buyers, sellers and owners. The guides will be available through www.domania.com and will be distributed to real estate and consumer press through domania.com's free news service - Domania HomeNews Service.
First-Time, First Steps is available at no cost at Domania.com http://www.domania.com/qa/buying.jsp in a downloadable Adobe Acrobat file format.
