INPHO and Gomez Advisors Announce Partnership
Provide Links To Each Other's Home Buying Tools
February 9, 2000 (Cambridge, MA) - INPHO Inc., the leading Internet distributor of historical
home sales data, and Gomez Advisors, the leading provider of Internet research and analysis in the
online real estate industry, today announced a partnership to provide consumers with greater access
to home buying information. INPHO and Gomez have agreed to have INPHO develop co-branded content
for Gomez.
Recognizing their overlapping consumer advocacy missions and distinct real
estate features, INPHO and Gomez decided to join forces. INPHO provides free and easy access to
historical home price records via its flagship product HomePriceCheck.com: What It Really Sold For.
Home Price Check is the Blue Book of residential real estate with the web's largest database of
actual home prices. Gomez educates consumers by evaluating various online services, including
Home Buying and Mortgages, and providing scorecards for those sites. Gomez's scorecards include
an overall score, as well as ratings for ease of use, customer confidence, on-site resources and
relationship services. In addition, Gomez works with leading online real estate firms to conduct
customer analysis and identify opportunities for growth.
Steve Kropper, President of INPHO, said, "Gomez enjoys a great reputation as a
consumer resource because of their independence and neutrality. Their scorecards are a means of
finding the value in all of the online services they rate. We are thrilled to be a part of Gomez's
mission of supporting consumers as they search for the right information at the right time in their
real estate cycle and encourage consumers to consider all of the sites listed in the scorecard. We
look forward to expanding our content development with Gomez."
Said Gomez Real Estate Analyst Nick Karris, "Through our site, consumers can find
sources for all the listings available online. Now, thanks to Home Price Check, consumers will have
access to the most comprehensive source of home price data, too. These are two of the most vital pieces
of information for consumers. The functions we offer individually complement each other - it's a
natural fit. This partnership's synergy is to the benefit of the consumer."
Karris says this trend of making consumers more self-sufficient is changing the real
estate landscape. In fact, Gomez projects the standard 6% agent sales commissions will fall to 5% or
lower over the next 5 years, resulting in at least $8 billion of consumer savings annually.
INPHO's flagship product, HomePriceCheck.com: What It Really Sold For, the
historical home transaction database, offers the most comprehensive national data available. The
HomePriceCheck.com database contains over 21 million records that cover 50 top metropolitan areas in
the US and 75 percent of all nationally disclosed home sales. HomePriceCheck.com can also be accessed
through leading Internet sites such as Yahoo! and AOL.
HomePriceCheck.com, the leading Internet distributor of home price data, enables
homeowners and buyers to examine "what [homes] really sold for" on their street and in a price range
free of charge. This helps consumers make educated and informed decisions when buying, selling,
refinancing or owning a home. As MSNBC said about HomePriceCheck.com, "If you want to keep up with
the Joneses, one of the first things you should determine is how much they paid for their house."
Founded in 1989, Cambridge, MA based INPHO operates Home Price Check (SM), a unique database of over 21
million U.S home purchase prices, and is the pre-eminent provider of free consumer access to home price
data. At www.homepricecheck.com, consumers can instantly find the purchase prices, selling dates and
addresses of homes, condominiums and co-ops sold since 1993. INPHO aggregates deed and tax data from a
network of the country's premier regional data compilers. The Home Price Check service can also be accessed
through portals such as
http://realestate.yahoo.com/realestate/homevalues,

http://aol.homepricecheck.com.
INPHO, Inc., recently received a $5 million initial round of funding by @Ventures, the affiliated
venture capital arm of CMGI, Inc. (Nasdaq: CMGI). INPHO will use the funding to build out its nationwide
marketing infrastructure and to broaden the services that it offers to consumers through Home Price Check.
